Please read the following information before submitting an application below.
The application will be reviewed in the job interview, which is done online and takes about 10 minutes.

  • This job application is for a summer seasonal position at Sand Hollow Rentals in Hurricane, Utah. If you are interested in year-round employment, please still fill out an application and make a note in the comment section. We are the official concessionaire at the Sand Hollow State Park. You must be 18 or older to work. Starting pay is $14.00/hour with lots of hours available. There is a potential bonus at the end of the summer. Typical summer employees earn $8,000-$14,000 per summer.
  • The summer work season is approximately May to Labor Day in September. We can work around school at the end of August, but we ask all employees to come back to work the Labor Day weekend. Our peak busy time is June, July, and August.
  • The job description is renting out new and exciting equipment to customers including ski boats, wakeboard boats, pontoon boats, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, stand-up paddleboards, water trampolines, and UTV and ATVs for the sand dunes next door. Our concession building is located on-site at the beach inside the Sand Hollow State Park. The job duties include taking reservations, running the till, checking the equipment in and out to customers on the beach, telling customers the rules, showing customers how to operate the equipment, launching the watercraft with tractors, fueling machines, and putting the equipment away at the end of the day. We also have a small fast-food operation, and we ask the employees to share in all the duties of the job and rotate around. We have on the job training at the beginning of the season. You’ll be learning valuable business skills, life skills, interpersonal skills, responsibility, and problem solving. You’ll learn the ins and outs of business and be part of a very important team that is fully responsible for operating every aspect of the business.
  • We also offer guided tours to customers. If you want to become a guide for our guided UTV tours at the sand dunes next door, or become a boat captain to take customers out on the boats, this is another aspect of the job we can take a look at. All you need is to be 18 or older, have a driver’s license, take a 2-hour first aid/CPR class which we will setup and pay for, and be capable of taking customers on a tour in a safe and fun manner. Having a charismatic personality is a plus when being a tour guide, and you get to keep all your tips as a guide.

  • You would be expected to work Saturdays and holidays, and the days off are usually on weekdays. We’re open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm each day. By working 5 days a week, you would get more than 40 hours per week. There’s also the option of working 6 days a week during the busy part of the season if you feel up to it. All hours worked are paid at the normal pay rate and not overtime due to us being a seasonal business.
  • There are opportunities for employees to take out rental equipment and ride Monday-Thursday. You just need to get permission from the manager and pay for the gas you use.
  • We are the largest recreational equipment rental company in Utah and Idaho with 7 locations. We are the official private concessionaire for the Sand Hollow State Park, which is Utah’s #1 most visited State Park. We hire a group of 20-30 wonderful employees each summer to staff our Sand Hollow location. We are a tight knit group, and many employees end up forming long lasting friendships. We sponsor employee parties from time to time where we pay for the food.
  • We are looking for motivated individuals who are committed to work the whole summer, are hard-working, honest, responsible, dependable, friendly, good with people, and can learn quickly on the job the necessary skills through the training we provide.
  • The job can be considered a fun job, but there’s a lot of work and responsibility that goes along with it. Our philosophy is “work hard, play hard”. If you’re looking for a job where you can do the minimal amount of work with little responsibility, then this is not the job for you. If you’re looking for a job that’s satisfying, adventurous, challenging, fun, and located in one of the most beautiful outdoor settings anywhere in the world, then this is the job for you.
